Description of the project

As part of the annual social project "I play, live! Safety on the road", the next stage of which is devoted to the seat belts use need in traffic, the OKKO network held in January-March 2017 an all-Ukrainian campaign “Give away a stub – choose a life ". During the campaign, we collected 1079 stubs.

When campaign ended, we faced the issue of their utilization. There were various suggestions: to transfer them to the sorting line for ecological utilization or to make an art sculpture, which will remind drivers about the importance of using seat belts. We chose the second option and started searching for a contractor who could create such a sculpture. Simultaneously, we were looking for project partners because we understood that it was not possible to solve a global problem by the forces of just one company. We also understood that the best platform for such an object of reminder can be provided only by specialized state institutions. In our case - Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Together with the public sector – the public organization "All-Ukrainian Association of Driving Schools" and the Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on September 12, 2018, we presented an art object "I play, fasten". It consists of 1 079 stubs and is a full-size car seat with a safety belt. Currently, an unusual sculpture can be seen at the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located at the address: 26B Stepan Bandera Avenue, Kyiv. Subsequently, the chair will start a tour to other cities of Ukraine, to remind drivers and passengers of the importance of adhering to the safety rules on the road.

The first day of the exposition of a creative car seat was accompanied by a promotion for all visitors to the MIA Service Center: everyone who took photos in a seat with a fastened seat belt, and posted it in social networks with hashtags #Iplaylive, received useful sets of presents from OKKO: reflective vests and stickers.

Solves global goals

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

The overwhelming majority of citizens of Ukraine, in particular, our clients, employees and their families, are daily participants of the traffic. While on the road, they are constantly in danger, because Ukrainian highways are among the most dangerous in Europe. According to the statistics of the patrol police, the main causes of an accident on the roads of Ukraine is a deliberate violation of traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians; driving a car, bicycle or carriage in a drunken state; bad visibility at night; quality of road infrastructure. One of the most dangerous consequences for DTP is neglect of safety belts. According to official data, this tool saves in 70% of accidents. Therefore, the project aimed to remind drivers of the importance of using seat belts.
